Digital Storytelling Workshop at Dutch Museum Congress 2019

What is the potential value of IGNITE to heritage professionals such as museum practitioners? How can IGNITE contribute to their museum practices? To explore the possibilities of museum professionals using the IGNITE curriculum, Susan Schreibman and Shiro Inoue devised a workshop on digital storytelling for the Museum Congress 2019 held at Museumplein Limburg, Kerkrade, The Netherlands. The Congress was attended by museum practitioners from all over the Netherlands to discuss how the relationship between the public and Dutch museums could be strengthened. The workshop was given on the Museum Knowledge Day which focused on practical topics around museum practices.

Feedback from museum practitioners was positive and constructive. The discussion explored the potential impact of adopting a Design Thinking strategy for project development and delivery, community engagement, and digital storytelling.
