Design Thinking and Making: A Masterclass for Educators and Professionals in the Creative and Cultural Industries

From 3-5 March 2020 15 educators and professionals in the creative and cultural industries participated in an IGNITE Masterclass at Maastricht University. The goal of the event was to explore the challenges and opportunities of preparing students and upskilling professionals to utilise creative, interactive, and user-focused technologies into everyday activities.

This was the last in-person event that the IGNITE team was able to hold before the Covid-19 lockdown. Participants engaged in a series of interactive, design-thinking activities, providing strategies for integrating new methods, technologies, and skills into their teaching practice and/or to create educational opportunities for current professionals.

On 4 March, MasterClass participants engaged in a full day design spring was held at at the Ideas Lab at Cube Design Museum, a collaborator on the IGNITE project.
